2nd Shift Hours: 4PM - 12:30AM Monday-Friday or until work is completedWhat Machine Operation contributes to Cardinal Health?Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.Machine Operation sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to load bags for AeroMed kits, using computers to input information in order to create bags with correctly printed information for medical testing kits. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.Job SummaryThe Operator 1, Machines Operations is responsible for the operation and troubleshooting of machines within the facility. The job will delegate replenishment duties to associates when needed along with following directions and ensuring the output quality of the product.Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred

0 - 1 years related experience preferred

Ability to consistently lift 50 Ibs and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift of 8 hours or more required for lifting boxes of bags and other items

Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice

Adherence to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.

Aptitude to work in a fast-paced distribution environment while meeting hourly established quotas and performance standards

Responsibilities

Operates simple in-house machines on the production line, including utilizing computer for data input for machine.

Conducts quality checks on the products.

Documents applicable information regarding product quality and machine performance.

Maintains simple machines and performs general trouble shooting if needed.

Sets up and calibrates machines as necessary.

Reporting safety hazards within the work environment.

Maintains a clean and uncluttered work area.

Works within clearly defined Standard Operating Procedures and/or scientific methods

Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Excellent manual dexterity and ability to stand for extended periods of time

Strong attention to detail, precision, and analytical skills

Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities in equipment and product

Digital literacy keyboarding skills, touch screens
