Operations Manager

Summary: The Operations Manager is in charge of the day-to-day operations of Table to Farm Compost including on-site composting and facility operations and coordination with the Compost Collection Coordinator on completing residential and commercial routes. Additionally, the position works to coordinate feedstock deliveries from customers and partners and maintains the buildings and equipment for the company.
Job Description
On-site availability Monday-Friday
Feedstock delivery coordination and management
Fix and operate farm equipment including keeping logs for maintenance
On-site compost pile management to meet the Process to Further Reduce Pathogens (PFRP)
Be familiar with all the compliance, safety, and operation requirements of the Class III Compost Facility regulated by La Plata County and CDPHE including health and safety plans and engineering, design and operation documents (EDOP).
Manage distribution and delivery of bulk compost deliveries and soil amendment/additives and work with staff on invoicing bulk sales.
Handle logístics of artisan soil blends, including ordering and having constituents on hand in order to fulfill orders as well as product quality and ensuring product storage maintains the highest quality product possible.
Hauling carbon and bulking agents if needed.
Screen compost and ensure the highest quality product possible.
Create artisanal blends as needed to complete sales in a timely fashion.
Manage the USCC Seal of Testing Assurance certification including quarterly samples, compost analysis and modification.
Daily logs and record keeping in accordance with EDOP, e.g. groundwater monitoring as well as feedstock tracking and temperature monitoring.
Annual reporting to CDPHE
Being available to help on route if needed
Salary and Benefits
This position ranges from $45,000 - $55,000 commensurate with experience and provides health benefits.
Qualifications
Understanding of thermophilic composting, USCC Compost Operations Training Course (COTC) certification is highly encouraged but not required.
Excellent communications skills with team members to achieve goals.
Experience operating large farm equipment.
Attention to detail for data collection and quality control management.
Some availability after hours and on weekends to manage compost piles if aeration and odor control is needed.
Able to work outside in inclement weather.
Willingness to learn new equipment operation as it is purchased to scale up compost production.
