Advance Fire Systems, Inc was established in Durango, CO in 2006. We are a licensed Fire Suppression Contractor providing underground, suppression, and backflow services in Colorado and New Mexico. We work on all size projects from small tenant improvement and residential homes to large commercial, public and industrial facilities.
We are a full-service company offering system design, installation, inspection, service and repair. We staff licensed sprinkler pipe fitters, inspectors, and certified back flow testers and offer 24/7 services in case of emergency.
This position is for the installation of Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems compliant with the requirements of The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), State and Local Codes. Projects will include various types of fire hazards and occupancies under new construction and remodeled buildings. Examples include Multifamily Construction, Single Family Homes, Retail, Medical Office Buildings, and Schools.
Job Duties
Responsible for installation of a fire sprinkler system on a construction project based on fire protection drawings provided by the project manager.
Organize and manage all elements involved in installation of a fire sprinkler system including, but not limited to: manage and layout a 2-4-person construction crew, coordinating and receiving material and equipment deliveries, attendance of on-site meetings with general contractors, meeting deadlines of construction schedule set by general contractor, perform final testing and attend inspections throughout the project.
Identify changes in the project that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements and report them to the project manager
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Diagnose and repair existing fire sprinkler systems
Diagnose and repair cross connection control devices
Skills/Qualifications
2-3 years’ experience of fire sprinkler installation
State License (Colorado) preferred or ability to obtain within 90days of hire
Certified Backflow Prevention Device Tester (preferred)
Strong communication skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment
Ability to manage and supervise a 2-4-person construction crew
Ability to work well with other construction trades to create a teamwork environment
Valid Driver's License
Ability to pass a background check
The Advance Fire System’s fire sprinkler fitter will be supported by management with the training needed and assist to obtain certifications as needed in order to succeed with our company.
