JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are a small family business in need of another employee. Because we are so small we cannot provide benefits at this time.
It is our goal to keep employees busy year-round. In the early spring we perform small jobs and spring clean-ups. The main event is the busy season April-October for maintenance. During that time the job is performing landscape maintenance services Monday-Thursday every week. Friday is for odd jobs requested by clients that are out of scope of the regular weekly maintenance. You would be working alongside the owner of Tallgrass every day. Depending on level of experience and reliability there is room to move up and possibility to work alone. In the fall we perform sprinkler winterization/blow-outs and fall clean-ups. The owner is versed in construction, building, landscaping and many other trades. This leaves the winter months open to many different types of jobs. If jobs were not available for the entire winter this position would be placed on Job Attached Unemployment so income would still be available.

We are looking for an individual who wants a long term position and career, who also understands that a paycheck is earned. We need a hard worker who will show up every day and give their best work. Hourly wage would be determined based on knowledge/experience, work ethic and attitude. There is always room for a pay increase for the individual who goes above and beyond. The employee needs to be able to tolerate the physical demands of the job and be able to work in all weather, regardless of temperature, year-round.
To be successful as a Maintenance Technician you should be able to both follow and provide clear instructions. A top-notch Maintenance Technician should constantly be looking for ways to be efficient, expanding their knowledge, be a keen problem-solver, possess great communication skills, have high attention to detail and be extremely observant of their surroundings.
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform mowing, trimming, edging, blowing and water management for any lawn.
Be proficient or better when using a riding mower, push mower, weed eater, edger, leaf blower etc.
Have basic knowledge of sprinkler systems.
Weed mitigation.
Assessing progress and making recommendations/efficiencies for individual properties.
Complete all jobs to aesthetically pleasing standards of owner and clients.
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma (or equivalent).
Knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscaping maintenance and construction.
On-the-job training as a maintenance crew member.
Experience in a leadership role would be advantageous.
Experience in maintenance services of at least 1 year.
Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
