Summary: Table to Farm Compost (T2F) is seeking two positions including a temporary, part-time driver to haul leaves from within the city limits of Durango to the farm near Elmore’s Corner as well as assistants who will pick up 30 gallon leaf bags on the street and place them in a trailer. The positions are available between September 30, 2024 and October 31, 2024. Because of the unknown nature of the timing of leaves falling, T2F is looking for individuals who can be flexible with hours during the week, as there may be some 8 hours day, or shorter days during this timeframe. T2F can accommodate employees’ schedules on a weekly basis since this is a part-time and flexible position.
Driver Job Description:
-Drive truck and trailer in Durango to pick-up Fall leaf bags as part of a partnership between the City of Durango and T2F
-Use StopSuite on an App (Android provided) to run this Fall Leaf Route and check off stops as they are completed
-Track data including the numbers of bags of leaves at each stop and potential overages (each household is allowed 10 bags)
-Work with volunteers and assistants in the vehicles who are picking up bags
-Communicate with T2F staff on route status, issues that arise, and level of completion
-Check in daily on route for the day
Qualifications
-Valid U.S. Driver’s License
-High level of comfort navigating a truck and trailer (roughly 20 feet long) through busy downtown streets and narrow areas
-Ability and willingness to use an Android device (provided) to track stops and data
-A team player who works well with others and can manage a small team to pick-up leaves within the City of Durango
-Transportation to and from the facility
Assistant Job Description
-Work with driver to finish daily routes and assist with anything as needed
-Get in and out of truck many times throughout the shift and pick-up 30 gallon leaf bags from the curb and place them into trailer
Qualifications
-Ability to pick-up 30 gallon leaf bags for 4-6 hour shifts
-A team player who works well with others and has a positive attitude
