Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Westminster, Colorado, United States. This role is pivotal to our operations, with a focus on overseeing payroll and benefits operations. The successful candidate will bring expertise to drive operational excellence, compliance, and process improvements while ensuring high service standards.Responsibilities Accurately and efficiently process payroll for approximately 450 employees across multiple states, using systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce. Administer benefits programs, including health, retirement, internal dental benefits, and other fringe benefits, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Assist with merger and acquisition activity by managing payroll transitions and setups for newly acquired practices. Manage annual payroll and benefits processes and/or reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Administer Paid Time Off (PTO), sick time, and other leave processes, maintaining accurate records. Ensure compliance with payroll laws and best practices, staying updated on legal changes. Deliver excellent customer service, resolving payroll and benefits issues promptly and effectively. Assist in training staff on payroll procedures and support Human Resources with benefits-related items. Use accounting software systems to maintain accurate records and perform auditing tasks. Coordinate benefits administration, ensuring effective compensation and benefits management. Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience processing payroll required, multi-state and multi-entity payroll experience preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Accounting, or other related degree, or equivalent years of Payroll and management experience required.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred; Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), or HR Certification (SHRM, PHR) preferred.
Strong knowledge of payroll and tax laws, best practices, reporting regulations, and benefits processing administration required.
Required experience in Payroll/HR systems; experience in ADP Workforce Now highly preferred.
Stong accuracy, analytical, communication, written, attention-to-detail, problem resolution, project management, interpersonal skills, ethics, confidentiality and professionalism required.
Ability to work independently, research and propose solutions, organize effectively with strong time management skills working with multiple priorities and deadlines accurately.
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, with intermediate to advanced skill in Excel, Outlook, and Word. Ability to create or work with pivot tables and v-lookups.
