From endlessly recyclable aluminum cans, and cups, to aerosol bottles, our goal is to contribute to a better community, society, and world.Position Overview:As the Manager, Global Health & Safety Programs, youre a key member of the Global Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Health & Safety Programs and Compliance. You will contribute to the success of Ball by leading a group of EHS professionals to support internal and external stakeholders and leverage global EHS expertise to develop and execute world class Health & Safety systems.Your Key Areas of Responsibilities Include:

Manage, direct, and prioritize projects as assigned by EH&S leadership.

Provide advice and service to all entities in the corporation within the scope of the departments expertise.

Facilitate the development of plant and functional safety rules, processes, tools to meet corporate guidelines, and in compliance with governmental regulations and laws in occupational safety.

Lead the development and deployment of global Health & Safety (H&S) standards.

Coordinate with the Global Fire Safety Property Protection (FSPP) Programs lead on property assessments to identify potential or actual risks; assist in the development of responses/corrective actions to the assessment with the goal of improving Balls compliance and status of highly protected risk (HPR) sites globally.

Work to improve department efficiency through streamlining processes, automating data collection and applying LEAN principals.

Communicate concisely EHS and leadership globally: efforts, progress, achievements, problems and failures related to Health and Safety compliance, on a timely basis.

Assist Ball Global and Regional participation in enforcement proceedings in cooperation with the Ball Law Department.

Initiate, review, document and implement standard health and safety standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Maintain awareness and comply with all Health and Safety management requirements.

Guide team through large health and safety improvement projects and change management initiatives and drives best practices across all business units.

Required Experience and Skills:

Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety, Health & Safety or Environmental, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or other relevant science or engineering disciplines or 5-7 years of work related experience.

Minimum of 7 years experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs, conducting risk assessments, and overseeing compliance efforts.

Minimum of 5 years experience in federal, state, and local EHS regulations, and experience coordinating compliance efforts and responding to regulatory agencies.

Minimum of 5 years experience leading and influencing a team of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) professionals, guiding them through large health and safety improvement projects and change management initiatives.

Demonstrated Skills:

Communication: excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills are required along with the ability to provide a high degree of customer sensitivity.

Safety Operations: ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard plant safety operations techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Data Management: Database management and spreadsheet development and ability to learn and adapt various software tools for use in EHS.

Business Operations: to determine applicable regulation and potential business impacts.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective follow up skills.

Ability to influence effectively across all levels of personnel globally.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Global safety and health regulations, legal practices, safety and health principles, practices, verbiage, procedures.

High speed manufacturing experience.

Experience with ISO 45001 requirements or similar.

Compensation & Benefits

Hiring Salary Range: $93,100 - $142,140. Salary to be determined by the applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

The preferred location for this role is our Westminster, CO campus; but we will consider a REMOTE candidate, dependent on experience, qualifications and willingness to engage in regular travel to Colorado. If based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel (30-40%) and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations will be required.
