- Enforce alcohol perimeter (into/out of events) while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor
- Control access to events
- ID and ensure that event attendees are 21 years and older
- Ensure adherence to Company Policies
- General Property Security (Help secure property before, during and after events)
- Will conduct pat down searches and bag checks for alcohol compliance
- Will be in company vehicle (trucks and snowmobile) 50% of time in varying terrain and conditions
- Responsible for hourly security checks of all Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation properties
- Respond to fire and or burglar alarms as necessary
- Deal with guests and other individuals under varying circumstances
- May be required to transport guests in shuttle van
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
- Set up, tear down, and cleanup of events
- Other duties, as assigned
- High School diploma or GED
- Criminal Justice Degree helpful but not required
- Previous security experience helpful but not required
- Previous guest service experience helpful but not required
- Must be able to communicate and handle confrontational and intoxicated event attendees
- Must have a high tolerance to remain level under pressure and in stressful situations
- Must think and work as a team player
- Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing; Spanish a plus
- Must stand for long periods of time
- Musty bend down to “frisk” for hidden alcohol on guests attending event
- Expected to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (i.e. cattle guards for event perimeters)
- Must work mostly outdoors, sometimes in extreme heat, cold and inclement weather
- This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay
- Position is expected to work weekends, evenings, some days, and holidays as needed
- Must successfully complete a background check
- Pursuant to county and/or state orders and company policies, every employee is required to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, practice social distancing, wash hands frequently, wear a mask per current guidelines, self-report and call in immediately and stay home if sick and assist with sanitizing and disinfecting work areas. Employees must follow all resort mitigation plans and protocols, which can be found posted on resort buildings and on Beekeeper
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat area base hourly pay rate: $16.50 per hour
Overnight officers: $17.00 per hour
