This includes fostering a culture of safety awareness among all CORE employees, conducting regular crew observations, and utilizing data-driven approaches to analyze incidents and near-misses. Commitment to continuous improvement of safety is essential in this role The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute processes that promote best practices and drive ongoing safety initiatives, contributing to a safer work environment for all.This is a Non-exempt onsite position at our Sedalia office, located at 5496 North U.S. Highway 85, Sedalia, CO 80135.You will
Conduct observations of work practices and provide constructive feedback and assistance to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct audits of vehicles and equipment. Correct or recommend actions to the Health and Safety Director to remedy any unsafe conditions.
Review and create written incident reports on contractor safety incidents.
Review incidents and accidents, prepare reports, conduct root cause analyses, and recommend solutions. Assist in the analysis of all injuries and motor vehicle accidents involving Cooperative vehicles or equipment.
Identify processes, work practices, environmental conditions, and other areas of risk that need improvement. Work with department staff to implement solutions.
Review safety observations to identify training opportunities or procedural gaps.
Identify cooperative policies and practices that deviate from any established federal, state, and local safety laws and rules. Make recommendations to the Health and Safety Director on procedures and equipment to correct deficiencies.
Develop and implement special projects assigned by the Safety and Health Director.
Participate in and/or provides support for various committees or task forces as requested.
Conduct crew support, observations, incident analysis, or other duties after hours and on weekends as directed by the Health and Safety Director.
Stop working when necessary to prevent an injury or accident.
Monitor the effectiveness of existing practices and compliance programs.
Analyze observation data to identify trends and training requirements.
Travel to district offices, within service territory, and attend conferences, seminars, and other training opportunities to stay continually aware and knowledgeable of industry changes.
Perform other duties as required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from weather.
The worker is subject to extreme cold: Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity.
The worker is subject to extreme heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity.
The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level.
The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman; 5 years preferred.
Prior experience in utility operations, with specific knowledge of safety procedures in transmission and/or distribution operations is required.
Safety specific certifications and/or informal safety experience within field and operational roles.
Proven experience working collaboratively across departments.
In-depth knowledge of utility and Cooperative safety standards and operating procedures is essential.
Satisfactory background check and pre-employment drug screen results.
Knowledge of occupational and industrial safety is preferred.
Safety certifications like a CLCP or CSP are preferred.
