This individual is responsible for on-site daily construction observation of transmission, substation, and distribution facilities in support of (CORE System Improvement) SI and New Consumer projects. The inspector monitors permits, and compliance associated with construction of various projects. They work in conjunction with consulting engineers, CORE Engineering and Operations Departments, contractor personnel, developers, and other utilities to ensure facilities are constructed in compliance with the latest contract standards and specifications.This is a Non-exempt onsite position at our Sedalia office, located at 5496 North U.S. Highway 85, Sedalia, CO 80135.You will
Observe construction (Install, removal, and/or relocation) of assigned CORE substation, transmission, and distribution projects.
Function as liaison between the contractor, consumer, design engineer and/or project manager.
Oversee work associated with project requirements from release to close-out, including but not limited to participation in pre-bid, pre-con, post job walks, proposal evaluations, coordinating design modifications, change orders, ITC's, RFI's and material issues. Prepare daily inspection reports as required by job type.
Responsible for managing stormwater permits and monitoring for compliance with the Clean Water Act which includes conducting construction site run-off control reviews, identifying the parameters of coverage and compliance for stormwater discharges, review proper installation and maintenance of BMP's, determine causes of improper BMP ineffectiveness and how to correct, and implement mandated reporting in accordance with local, state and federal stormwater regulations.
Oversee post-construction site clean-up and reclamation. Process quotes from reclamation contractors and inspects work prior to final payment and close-out.
Promote quality control by inspecting construction for compliance with CORE's specifications and Standards, and adherence to safe working practices within local, state, and federal regulations.
Practice cost control and monitors expenditures, review contractor billings, approve change orders, and monitor construction scopes and schedules.
Ensure projects are closed in accordance with procedures in place with CORE GIS, Finance, Purchasing, Engineering and Operations.
Provide regular updates to CORE's data and document management software.

High school diploma or equivalent certificate and 10 years of construction related experience with 5 years minimum performing field observation or construction management in the electric utility industry.
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management may be considered in lieu of experience.
Experience in Stormwater management and erosion control is preferred. I must be willing to take Stormwater Inspection training upon hire.
Requires general knowledge of utility construction practices for overhead and underground distribution systems, and working knowledge of NESC, NEC and OSHA construction regulations.
Requires valid Colorado driver's license with satisfactory driving record within CORE's standards.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
