Overview:

As a trusted Managed Service Provider (MSP), Forward Tech Solutions is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist & System Administrator to assist our clients in managing their IT infrastructure and providing top-notch support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the proactive monitoring, maintenance, and support of clients' IT systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role will require strong technical skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Client IT Support: Provide remote and on-site technical support to clients, troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues in a timely and professional manner.

System Administration: Manage and maintain client servers, workstations, networks, and cloud services, ensuring all systems are up-to-date, secure, and running efficiently.

Network Management: Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, routers, and switches, ensuring optimal network performance and security for clients.

Security Management: Implement and monitor client cybersecurity measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, backups, and user access controls to protect company data.

Software & Hardware Setup: Install, configure, and maintain client devices such as desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices, ensuring they are correctly integrated into their IT environment.

Client Training: Provide training sessions for client employees on software usage, security best practices, and troubleshooting common issues.

System Monitoring: Proactively monitor client networks and systems for performance issues, security vulnerabilities, or potential risks, and take corrective actions when needed.

Backups & Disaster Recovery: Regularly back up client data, test recovery plans, and ensure all systems are recoverable in case of failure or disaster.

Documentation & Reporting: Keep detailed documentation of client IT environments, including network configurations, software setups, and issue resolution logs. Provide regular reports to clients on system health, performance, and security status.

Vendor Management: Liaise with third-party vendors, software providers, and hardware suppliers on behalf of clients to resolve issues or procure new equipment and services.

Project Coordination: Assist with IT projects, including system migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and new technology implementations for clients.

Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or System Administrator, preferably in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.

In-depth knowledge of networking, server administration, and cloud services (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS, etc.).

Proficiency in managing Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android operating systems and business applications.

Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), routers, firewalls, and VPN technologies.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with the ability to handle complex technical issues.

Experience with IT security best practices, including endpoint protection, encryption, and data backup solutions.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical clients and staff.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a client-driven environment.

Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or similar certifications are preferred.

Must be able to lift 50lbs+

Must have reliable transportation and valid drivers license

Preferred Skills:

Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).

Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for automation of common tasks.

Knowledge of IT asset management tools and system monitoring platforms.

Strong understanding of IT service management (ITIL) practices.
