Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and experienced private chef to join our household on a part-time basis. The primary responsibility of the chef will be to plan and prepare meals ahead of time, ensuring they are ready to be cooked or reheated at our convenience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence, creativity in menu planning, and proficiency in various cooking techniques.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborate with the family to create weekly meal plans that cater to our preferences and dietary requirements
Plan, shop (paid for by us), prepare, and cook dinner 3 - 5 nights a week
Conducting household inventories and procuring supplies, including grocery shopping
Maintaining a tidy kitchen and prep area
You may use our kitchen, or cook elsewhere and deliver meals
Prepare a variety of dishes in advance, ensuring they are properly labeled and stored for future consumption with instructions for reheating/finishing up each meal.
Schedule: Dinner 3 - 5 days a week (days are flexible) to start
Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience
Excellent references are required from current and/or previous employers
Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
Organic/seasonal cooking style
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
Maintain the highest safety, sanitation, health, and food storage standards.
Move about the workplace efficiently with care and consideration of noise.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Utmost sense of discretion
Professional, polished, and poised at all times
Maintaining a friendly demeanor and comfortable working around children
Valid driver’s license is required
Must have valid US work authorization
