(https://youtu.be/Bevm6F3LfBM) Description of JobWho we are: The Lottery'smission is to maximize the proceeds from Lottery game sales to support the Lottery's beneficiaries for the good of all Coloradans. The Operations Section is in charge of daily operations and support of the Lottery, including oversight of the following units: Draw/Computer Operations, Retail Operations and the Business Analysis Management Office (BAMO). These units support drawings, rulemaking, claims processing, customer service, facility support, quality assurance and customer acceptance testing, training, OIT Interagency oversight, and related-contract management. What we do: Draw Operations is responsible for conducting all Jackpot Drawings in accordance with the Colorado Lottery Statutes, Rules, Drawing Guidelines, Drawing Schedules, and predefined alternative procedures as needed (i.e. lockdown, manually conducting a drawing, disaster recovery, etc.) This position also supports the lottery business by monitoring, maintaining and uploading vendor files, provides support to the BAMO section and performs all 2nd Chance, Bonus and Promotional Drawings. A typical day as a Drawings Supervisor:The Drawings Supervisor is a tech savvy communicator who knows how to navigate various computer systems and software in order to conduct Lottery draws and also understand how to communicate with the team, Lottery Commissioners, leadership and vendors regarding Lottery Draw rule making and draw related information. This position will attend Commission Board Meetings, create draw rule guidelines and update the Lottery's website. The successful candidate in this position is a problem solver with leadership skills who can manage the workload and schedule of a multiple shift team and is experienced with script writing and maintenance. If you're organized, detail oriented, analytical minded and able to communicate effectively, then this may be the job for you! Primary Duties:

Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day work of the draw staff. Develops unit work schedules, assigns tasks, monitors activities, verifies the draw technician's work product, and establishes work standards.

Develops guidelines for scratch and online games (jackpot, second chance and promotional) and rulemaking and rule change submissions for the Division.

Resolves drawing-related issues or events as they pertain to promotional or second-chance drawings.

Provides expertise to determine testing support of drawings procedures with new jackpot games and enhancements, including second-chance and promotional drawings.

Oversees the contract management for the number drawing systems and auditor.

Maintains computer scripts, applications and internal programs that have been developed to streamline the unit's workflow. Creates and maintains the Lottery proprietary computer scripts that are not maintained by OIT common policy.

Maintains all necessary documentation for auditing purposes and will provide cross training for the analysts in BAMO for the draw unit.

Position Details:This position reports to the Pueblo Office (no work from home or hybrid option) and fills in shifts outside of normal working hours, to possibly include evenings and weekends. Experience could be gained in roles such as IT Customer Service Support, IT Helpdesk, Software Tester, Systems Tester, Computer or Systems Analyst, Computer Programmer, or Computer Systems Engineer.

OPTION 2:

Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or closely related area as determined by the Department.

AND

3 years of experience in an Information Technology (IT) focused role.

Experience could be gained in roles such as IT Customer Service Support, IT Helpdesk, Software Tester, Systems Tester, Computer or Systems Analyst, Computer Programmer, or Computer Systems Engineer.

OPTION 3:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or closely related area as determined by the Department.

AND

1 years of experience in an Information Technology (IT) focused role.

Experience could be gained in roles such as IT Customer Service Support, IT Helpdesk, Software Tester, Systems Tester, Computer or Systems Analyst, Computer Programmer, or Computer Systems Engineer.

Substitutions: Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.Special Qualifications:

Required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency services to ensure health, safety, and welfare. Jackpot Drawings are conducted 7 days and nights a week. Position must be able to support drawings and critical nightly processing as required due to emergencies and expected or unexpected absences.

Applicants must also undergo a conflict-of-interest assessment to determine compliance with the provisions of C.R.S. § 44-40-110, and must remain in compliance with C.R.S. § 44-40-110 for the duration of their employment with the Colorado Lottery.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a supervisor, work lead, subject matter expert (SME) on a team, or project lead that has distributed workload and managed team schedules

State experience in an IT role

Knowledge of lottery operations

Additional years of experience with computer script writing and/or maintenance

Proficiency with computer programs and able to navigate computers

Proficiency with commonly used computer apps (Filezilla, GoodSync, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, VPN, etc.)

Problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Experience with process improvement

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Conditions of Employment with the CDOR :
