Job Summary:Coordinates, leads and directs the activities of Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in performing duties and tests related to cardiac ultrasound. Makes members/patients and their needs a primary focus of ones actions; develops and sustains productive member/patient relationships. Actively seeks information to understand member/patient circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs. Builds rapport and cooperative relationship with members/patients. Considers how actions or plans will affect members; responds quickly to meet member/patient needs and resolves problems.Essential Responsibilities:

This position, knows and complies with all Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice in every interaction with patients, colleagues, providers, and leadership. Ensures patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to but not limited to medications, procedures, infection prevention, fall prevention, including consistent use of two patient identifiers and procedural time outs. Reports safety hazards, accidents and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly.

Serves as a leader for cardiac ultrasound services.

Provides input into decisions concerning regional policies and procedures.

Proactively identifies problems and coordinates with vendors for resolution.

Helps assess technical competence and operational compatibility of new ultrasound hires.

Remains current with technological advancements in the ultrasound field.

Utilizes effective communication techniques with staff and providers.

Works closely with the Cardiovascular Services Leadership team to promote and develop cutting edge/high quality cardiovascular services.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Three (3) to five (5) years of direct patient care experience in an in-patient or clinical setting.

One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a role of progressive responsibility within the ultrasound field.

Education

Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.

License, Certification, Registration

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers

Additional Requirements:

Demonstrated customer service skills, customer focus abilities and the ability to understand Kaiser Permanente customer needs.

Leadership experience required.
