Classroom aides provide breaks to staff, set up nutritious meals, maintain health and safety as the top priority, provide classroom support, and enjoy working in a team.Examples of Duties for Success
Temporary position from August 2023-May 2024, up to 40 hours a week
Assist in the instruction of children involved in various classroom activities
Assist and work with children with special needs and behavior needs
Always utilize only positive discipline practices
Always supervise children in our care
Support cultural responsiveness efforts to understand differences, recognize bias, and look beyond differences to work productively in educational settings
Prepare and assist in implementing family-style mealtime and clean up, nurturing, social/emotional and self-help development
Assist in the accuracy of forms for record-keeping purposes
Complete all health and safety checklists in a timely manner and with accuracy
Assist in maintaining a healthy and safe environment. Ensure that the classroom's appearance, cleanliness, and safe classroom environment are appropriately maintained
Ensure all classroom/outdoor equipment is in good working condition and is used/maintained correctly
Provide breaks for education staff and coverage for a regularly scheduled meeting
Support in laundry responsibilities
Attend and participate in staff meetings, workshops, formal classes, in-service training, and program events to continually advance teaching skills and knowledge, as requested
Participate in professional development opportunities and education coaching for continuous improvement
Abide by medical/nutrition restrictions
Flexibility with changes in the daily schedule and classroom coverage
Ability to travel from one center to another
Use various forms of technology such as tablets and computers
Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft software
Check various communication avenues such as email and phone calls and respond in a timely manner
Always maintain confidentiality and abide by the program's employee standard of conduct
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications for Success
Meet the needs of children in a childcare setting
Learn operations services and activities

Follow pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Obtain First Aid and CPR certification

More Qualifications for SuccessExperience:six (6) months of experience working with preschool-age children Education and Training:
Preferred High School diploma or equivalent
License or Certificate:
Valid Colorado Driver's License and Proof of vehicle insurance
A Motor Vehicle record check will be conducted
Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification
Ability to obtain medication administration certificate
Background Check:
Ability to pass multiple criminal backgrounds and Central Registry checks
A fingerprint check may be conducted
A Motor Vehicle record check will be conducted
Other:
Must complete physical examination and TB test upon hire
Ability to sit, stand, walk, run, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, and climb
Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
Exposure to childhood diseases
Employees in this benefit class are eligible based on the number of hours worked and the duration of employment.Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the 457b deferred compensation plan:
