Apply today to learn more and join the team!A Brief OverviewThe Tax and Insurance Representative is an entry level position that will allow you to play an essential part on our Loan Servicing team. The Tax and Insurance Representative protects FirstBank's collateral and our borrowers' assets by monitoring, disbursing, and analyzing taxes and insurance for consumer and commercial loans. This Representative will work in a team environment with opportunities to assist customers and communicate with stakeholders.What you will do

Work with insurance agents via phone and e-mail to verify and obtain insurance policies

Evaluate escrow accounts for property taxes and various types of insurance (homeowners, flood, private mortgage insurance, etc.)

Research and follow up on missing, incorrect, or inadequate documentation

Answer phone calls from customers and other employees regarding taxes and insurance on consumer and commercial loans

Track and process loss draft occurrences, expired insurance, canceled insurance, force placed insurance, and annual tax verification with the applicable procedures and regulation

Perform and review escrow analysis in compliance with applicable rules and regulations

Answer questions about escrow analysis from various stakeholders

Complete disbursement of insurance payments on escrowed loans

Process private mortgage insurance removal in compliance with the applicable procedures and regulations

Process the adding and waiving of escrowed items of mortgages upon request

Review new loans to verify tax and insurance escrows are set up properly

Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy

Minimum Requirements

Entry-level job with little or no prior relevant work experience in the function

Preferred Requirements

Experience with balancing transactions

Prior insurance or property tax experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)

Ability to learn and comply with applicable regulations and bank policies

Ability to learn and navigate various bank and loan applications and systems

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Proficient time-management and organizational skills

Ability to think critically and solve basic problems

Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines

Strong attention to detail

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day

Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer

Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms

Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights

Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files

Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone

Must be able to exchange accurate information
