We provide professional, efficient, and effective service to the divisions and business groups in each area of responsibility with the focus on accountability and customer service.What we do:The Mail Services section provides timely distribution of incoming mail, outgoing mail, and resolves mail related issues. Day in the life of a Materials Handler III:We're hiring a Material Handler who is responsible to physically and systematically process inventory correctly to support internal/external customers . Additionally, this position oversees physical inventory using DOR systems, physical counts and cycle counting which includes analyzing information for correctness, resolving discrepancies and balancing the final report. The Materials Handler III position is located in the DOR-Mail Services section in Lakewood. This position receives and distributes supplies to support a safe and efficient transportation system. The Material Handler III is accountable for overseeing consumable inventory, receiving and distributing loading dock deliveries, fulfilling requests for tax forms, administering the secure document destruction program, and processing outgoing mail. This individual will assure responsibility for the contents of shipments with samples and checking the verifications with purchase order specifications, and noting whether shipment is received in full for further processing. Duties:

Track/manage consumable inventory, establish reorder points, safety stock quantities, and cycle counts.

Receive shipments at the loading dock, inspect for damage, and accept or reject deliveries.

Receive and log incoming express mail (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) and packages.

Fulfill tax form requests from the public, Taxpayer Services Centers, libraries, and other government offices.

Administer the weekly secure document destruction process for the facility.

Process outgoing mail (metering letters and packages).

Pick-up and transport mail, packages, supplies, interdepartmental mail, etc. to/from USPS, other state agencies, and department facilities on a prescribed route and times.

Special Qualifications:

Lifting up to 50 lbs.

Must posses and maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Previous experience working in a mail center or mailroom

Operating a postage meter; and

Driving a box truck with a lift gate and/or cargo van

Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Products

Experience with maintaining inventory and receiving shipments

State experience in tracking consumable inventory

Attention to detail

Conditions of Employment with the CDOR :

Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence.

As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations .
