Responsibilities:

The Foreman provides direction, training and support to Journeymen and Apprentices in the installation of materials on commercial construction sites. Emphasis is on a safe work environment and providing customers with the finest customer service, meeting or exceeding customer expectations and planned budget goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Expert installer of all types of acoustical and specialty ceilings following Company policy, industry standards and manufacturers installation guidelines.

2. Train, support, and discipline Journeymen and Apprentices to be able to complete assigned jobs within plan.

3. Plan projects with field installers to complete projects on time and under budget while meeting customer and Company quality expectations.

4. Support Journeymen and Apprentices in dealing with customers and their representatives.

5. Read plans and scope of work for projects. Complete work as described on the plans and in the scope of work. Contact supervisor on all discrepancies, questions, or concerns about projects.

6. Evaluate and coach ways to improve performance.

7. Demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail at all times.

8. Perform job site inspections before and after all jobs.

9. Enforce safety policies and practices.

10. Continuously train and evaluate assigned crew in safety, proper installation techniques and equipment maintenance while abiding by Company policies and procedures.

11. Measure and document employee productivity. Communicate to supervisor on daily progress.

12. Collect and review weekly time cards of assigned crew and ensure time cards are submitted on time.

13. Perform field installation work as may be required.

14. Perform preventive maintenance on Company equipment and tools.

15. Ability to work overtime, including nights and weekends, and varying work schedules.

16. Provide customer service to our internal and external customers at all times.

17. Manage multiple jobs and direct reports.

18. Attendance, punctuality and reliability is an essential responsibility.

Other Duties and Responsibilities: Various other duties as assigned by Foreman, Field Superintendent, Safety Manager, Operations Manager, or President.

Supervisory Duties: The following positions report directly to the Foreman:

1. Master Journeymen, Senior Journeymen, Journeymen

2. Senior Apprentices and Apprentices

3. General Labor positions

Working Environment & Physical Activities: This position will be working primarily indoors in unfinished buildings. Temperatures may vary from site to site. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be higher depending on equipment and machinery used on site. Peak workloads, compressed deadlines and general demands may result in high job stress.

1. BODY POSITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, sit and walk. May be required to climb, crouch, squat, kneel, crawl and work overhead for long periods of time.

2. BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including the full use of hands and fingers to grasp and lift, push, pull and carry various construction materials. The ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to crouch when needed are also required. This includes lifting objects overhead while maintaining balance.

3. BODY SENSES: Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include vision for color, peripheral, close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

4. STRENGTH: Must have the ability to lift 75 pounds with regularity. This includes the ability to carry material up multiple flights of steps.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Three or more years of experience as a Journeyman.

2. Excellent understanding and practical experience in installing suspended ceilings.

3. Excellent punctuality and reliability.

4. Ability and knowledge to train direct reports in the installation of suspended ceilings.

5. Ability to manage a job with multiple direct reports.

6. Ability to read, interpret, and explain plans.

7. Ability to communicate assignments in English to direct reports.

8. Ability to manage and control costs so that all jobs assigned meet or exceed planned budget goals.

9. Ability to work overtime, including nights and weekends, and varying work schedules.

10. Able to pass a background check and be able to work at schools, airports and government buildings or any other project requiring security and background clearances.

11. High school diploma or equivalent.
