Job Summary: To perform tasks including physical labor on various construction sites. The Base Crew Laborer may operate a variety of hand and power tools. This position will also require cleaning and preparing sites for concrete or asphalt paving and assisting other craft people.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Shovel dirt and/or road base as needed on projects.

Assist in grading surfaces for pavement.

Maintain a clean worksite by cleaning, sweeping and picking up tools every day.

Work safely at all times, observing all CRI Policies, OSHA Regulations, and Site Specific requirements and policies.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred.

Specialized knowledge: Ability to follow directions and good communication skills.

Skills: Basic math, knowledge of hand and power tools.

Abilities: Able to shovel, broom and perform manual labor for extended periods of time. Must be able and willing to learn new skills and duties.

Professional Certification: None

Experience: Construction experience preferred

Working Conditions: Work is performed outdoors and in various types of weather conditions including but not limited to; sun exposure, cold exposure, wind, and humidity such as rain and snow. Ground conditions will vary based on weather conditions or site conditions and may include working in mud and water. Exposure to noise from heavy equipment and tools and to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Physical Demands: Must be physically fit and able to perform construction labor activity, frequent use of hands, arms, legs and whole body which include long periods of balance, standing or sitting; frequent walking, climbing, bending and/or lifting. Must be able to push, pull, move, drag, or connect objects weighing up to 75 pounds.

Expected Working Hours: Typical working hours are Monday through Friday 7a.m. until 5p.m. Overtime and weekend hours may be required.
