Southern Exposure Landscape has been creating beautiful outdoor spaces for over 25 years, and we’re looking for a Purchaser to join our team! This behind-the-scenes role keeps our projects running by making sure the right plants, materials, and equipment show up on time and on budget.
Job Description:
Monitor, forecast, source and order materials including plants, hardscape products, irrigation supplies, and equipment parts. Order and maintain stock of commonly used parts for mechanics/shop.
Obtain quotes and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery with vendors.
Ability to accurately receive products on jobsites and handle discrepancies.
Issue purchase orders and track order status to ensure on-time delivery.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Coordinate deliveries with job sites and shop personnel.
Review and reconcile vendor invoices for accuracy prior to submission for payment.
Maintain vendor relationships to ensure quality and reliability of materials.
Stay informed on product availability, seasonal changes, and industry trends.
Communicate effectively with project managers, foremen, and other staff regarding material needs.
Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or procurement (landscape or construction industry preferred).
Knowledge of landscape materials, plants, and equipment is highly desirable.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing/ERP systems such as Quickbooks.
Top-notch organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license required and insurable through company insurance.
