Temporary Maintenance Technician
(Summer Help)
April 2024-August 2024
Hours/Schedule:
Monday-Thursday- 40 hours/week
Drug test/background check required
Job Summary:
Parks: Maintenance of various town parks includes daily maintenance such as mowing, trimming, trash collection, minor sprinkler maintenance, etc.
Water: Assist with reading meters, water tap installations, etc.
Streets: Assist with maintenance of streets and alleys
Buildings: Maintenance includes cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming etc.
Required Experience and/or skills:
1-3 years’ work experience
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Essential Functions:
Follow written and/or verbal instructions and communicate information to others
Operate equipment such as power tools, mowers, shop equipment, etc.
Follow workplace safety rules at all times
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the general public
Handle difficult situations using tact, patience and good judgment
Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Working Environment:
May work in varied weather conditions
Exposure to chemicals, electrical and plumbing materials, dust, dirt, noise, insects
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a group
Work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings
Physical Requirements:
Manual labor, prolonged standing, kneeling, bending and walking, climbing ladders and stairs
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
Manual dexterity enough to operate hand and power tools, move objects
Vision enough to perform above functions, read printed instructions
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $16.00-$18.00 per hour (Depending upon job and qualifications)
