We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Line Cook. In this role, you will be responsible for food preparation, sanitation, and providing consistent food service to our customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and possess skills in food handling and preparation.
This will be for approximately 14 -25 hours per week (but can expand if needed) depending on availability. We are a busy bar with a small kitchen. The operation is at times fast-paced but the kitchen can be slow. As a result, we're looking for committed, energetic cooks; that can succeed while working solo or in a team.
Job Responsibilities:
Set up and stock food items (Mise en place)
Prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, cooking, portioning, and/or preparing sauces.
Cook food items to order and to standard
Maintain cleanliness and compliant with all proper food handling procedures.
Ideal candidates will be familiar with multiple cooking platforms, including: Deep Fryer, Sauté, Poach, Grill, Broiler, and Steam.
Must be able to scrub, wash, disinfect, and clean as a part of closing duties.
Line Cook Qualifications/Skills:
Basic written and verbal communication in English
Ability to cook solo or with others.
Follow direction, instruction, and recipes with consistency and little supervision.
Two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook is preferred but required for consideration.
We are open Wednesday - Sunday. We close the kitchen at 9pm. Availability on evenings and weekends is a must.
No calls, please. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour but could bump as high as $18 an hour depending on experience and availability. Also, each employee gets a free shift beer at the end of each shift, 75% off after that.
