Description Robert Half is looking for a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join a dynamic and fast-growing team. Self-starters with technical skills and an interest in analytics may flourish in this Assistant Controller role. Located in Fort Collins, Colorado, this Assistant Controller position is a long-term contract employment opportunity.ResponsibilitiesArrange and manage account reconciliations/analyses for both balance sheet and income statement accounts
Other responsibilities may also include participating in system improvements, impromptu analyses, and special projects as assignedComplete the close on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as well as financial statementsSupervise financial executive package and control book on a monthly basis to include budget to actual comparisons by department
Prepare external monthly and quarterly reporting packages and supply to Board meeting decks
Oversee treasure functions to ensure timely payment for vendors and maintain accuracy of cash forecasts
Assist in developing the accounting team, which includes staffing, performance management, and training
Provide technical accounting GAAP mentorship, external reporting and support to the Company
Supervise and drive external financial audits
Manage policies for reporting and accounting
Requirements - Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Forward thinking mentality, ability to anticipate needs and pre-plan work
Adeptness in account analysis
Foundational knowledge in contracts
SAP experience
Company Revenue Recognition experience required
Deep understanding of technical accounting
Comprehensive knowledge of revenue recognition
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Relevant industry experience
Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IIA standards
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
Bachelor degree in Accounting
Relevant industry experience (preferred)
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
