Together with our patients, physicians, partners, and communities, we are creating a more just, equitable, and innovative healthcare delivery system.ResponsibilitiesThis is a remote position and will require heavy travel, up to 75%.SummaryThe Virtual Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) Educator develops and implements standard certified nurses aide workflows on Virtually Integrated Care (VIC) units and is accountable for the quality and established standards for direct patient care. This role will support the professional clinical staff through advancing the skills of direct care CNAs with tasks supported virtually. This role will coach and mentor CNAs on virtual units during and throughout their daily work assignments. This role will develop and lead a CommonSpirit Health (CSH) program for CNAs/Techs that includes a progressive education plan that supports a registered nurse position and a virtual care RN within new care models. This work shall align with regional and market educational nursing programs.Key Responsibilities
Oversees CNA’s practice virtually to achieve best practice and skill excellence that will master CSH Care bundles compliance
Develops and implements standard VIC CNA workflows using holistic care techniques and ensuring the patient and family are the focus of all care in collaboration with VIC leadership
Monitors progress on established metrics and collaborate with System VP for action steps to sustain and/or improve established metrics and goals
Demonstrates and leads CNA best practices and models of care across CSH VIC units
Develops and leads professional and personal development for CNAs
Develops CNA curriculum according to each state’s nurse practice act
Instructs CNA co-horts for CSH VIC units in collaboration with VIC leadership
Collaborates with System VP to identify grants opportunities to support education for CNA programs to support the CSH model of care
Develops retention plan and career development program for CNAs enrolled in VIC program
Assists in developing and implementing CNA shared governance structures local, regionally, and nationally across CSH VIC units
QualificationsRequired:
Bachelors of Science, Nursing
Minimum 5 Years CNA instruction experience in Technical education programs
Worked in large acute care organizations where team nursing was the norm. Ability to teach team nursing workflows.
Strong history of working with Allied Health professionals and Registered Nurses
Teaching experience in CNA/Tech technical education programs
Experienced RN in Medical/Surgical Services, and/or Critical Care Services
Current RN license in compact state
Mandatory Reporter (Adult and Child) required upon hire
Preferred:
MSN
Provided CNA instruction in acute care setting
Excellent ability to synthesize research and best practices and teach performance-based outcomes.
Knowledgeable of High Reliability skill sets;
Experience in early ambulation standards of practice
History of virtual care
Ability to teach care alignment with RNs and Allied Health.
Ability to demonstrate creative care model design aligning RN’s with competent caregivers.
Has a history of changing cultures and leading change with bedside clinicians.
