The Senior Analyst, Revenue Cycle supports all Pre and Post Award functions associated with trial budget creation through financial tracking of research trials. The Senior Analyst, Revenue Cycle is expected to manage their assigned workload, exercise independent judgement and discretion for problem solving, collaborate well with peers, participate in process improvement, and provide assistance and support on special projects as assigned. This position will work directly with other CSHRI staff, Principal Investigators, Division Research Staff, Sponsors, Division Billing Departments, and other key research stakeholders within the CommonSpirit Health research community.E SSENTIAL K EY J OB R ESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-Award Duties

o Trial Budget Preparation. Responsible for comprehensive review of assigned trial protocols; collaboration with site(s) and physician(s) to ensure accurate portrayal of time/effort, vendor identification, regulatory work and other budget items to facilitate thorough communication with trial sponsor for negotiation of trial charges and services reimbursement.▪ Review protocol and collaborate with sites and physicians for drafting budget, negotiates budget with sponsors and tracks communications as necessary; ensure accurate entry of negotiated trial budget into CTMS.o Coverage Analysis. In accordance with CSHRI policy and in keeping with CSHRI billing compliance guidelines, the Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for performing a robust and thorough coverage analysis using CSH approved billing/coding software for each assigned trial.▪ Prepares and finalizes coverage analysis template using CSH approved software for codes and coverages. Provides training to the revenue cycle team as directed by the Revenue CycleProgram Manager.o Trial Budget Review and Approval. As assigned, responsible for peer review of CTMS study budget builds to ensure financial study data aligns with sponsor contract, payment schedule, informed consent, and accounting codes.▪ Responsible for reviewing CTMS study budget builds as assigned to ensure alignment of all budget related documents.o Trial Budget Management. Responsible for oversight of study budget lifecycle to include protocol, budget and contract amendments that impact the initial CTMS budget build.▪ Works closely with the revenue cycle team to communicate upcoming changes to study budget lifecycle; updates CTMS study budget build as required and ensures re-alignment of amended sponsor documents. Communicates any changes to study budget to key stakeholders such as Site Operations, Research Staff, Physicians, as necessary to the Revenue Cycle Program Manager.● Post-Award Duties

Trial Financial Management. Responsible for financial lifecycle management of assigned trials from trial start up to trial closeout to include accounts payable/accounts receivable, sponsor invoicing, payment posting and application, adjustments to revenue, study reconciliation and financial analysis as required. Works closely with Site Operations Leadership to ensure all trial financial activity is managed in the Clinical Trial Management Software (CTMS), and seeks direction from the Revenue Cycle Program Manager or the revenue cycle team for uncollectable revenues and outstanding expense associated with assigned trials.

o Responsible for financial lifecycle of assigned trial accounts including network and non-network studies; works closely with site research staff and site operation leadership to ensure all financial study activity is captured timely and accurately in CTMS. Is diligent with timely processing of sponsor payments and invoices, vendor reimbursement, revenue and expense adjustments; and generates reports as requested by research stakeholders.

Billing Integrity . In association with CSHRI’s process for compliant billing of research charges, the Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for the tracking of research encounters as they enter CSH’s Research Divisions Billing Systems; research charge segregation and appropriation to research billing account; and accurate coding of research procedures and services. Works closely with Division billing department, site research operations leadership and research staff.

o Works closely with the revenue cycle team to resolve billing inconsistencies relative to study budgets. Participates in study budget billing discussions as necessary.

Month End Close. Assists Revenue Cycle leadership with month end duties to include accurate and timely reporting of monthly export of financial activity from CTMS for reporting to Lawson financial system; ensures adjustments to revenue are reported correctly; performs cash reconciliation report showing cash received/posted to cash log and cash posted in CTMS. Maintains integrity of CTMS data reported to Lawson financials by providing ad hoc reports as requested, and provides monthly reports to vendors, sites, and National Grants Accounting as required.

o Prior to month end, communicates with the revenue cycle team to ensure all new study fees have been invoiced to sponsor.#LI-CSHQualificationsEducation/Accreditation

Associates Degree in Health Sciences or relevant area of study.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience with industry sponsored clinical trials budgeting and contracting preferred.

Knowledge of FDA and Medicare regulations related to clinical trials including trials involving Investigational New Drugs (INDs) and Investigational Device Exemptions (IDEs) preferred.

Ability to interpret research contracts, study budgets, clinical protocols, and consent forms to extrapolate billing/coverage data.
