Centennial Water prioritizes efficient water use throughout the year. Outreach and education have become a focal point for the district. Staff has taken steps to improve visibility with customers and expand on education and incentive programs to fuel water conservation both inside and outside the home. Successful candidates must have knowledge of water conservation programs and techniques and possess the ability to represent the District in a professional manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and facilitate the implementation of the District’s water conservation & efficiency programs.
Prepares educational information and delivers presentations to our customers both individually and in coordination with our Community Relations department.
Collects and analyzes data related to water usage, water audits and program effectiveness in order to make recommendations on future programs, including incentives and rebates.
Coordinates with in-house personnel, outside agencies, customer groups, and provides technical support for water conservation efforts.
Interviews, hires and supervises temporary Water Conservation Monitors for customer compliance with District water conservation programs.
Performs on-site water audits for customers and evaluates both indoor fixtures and irrigation system operations.
Required Qualifications:
Work experience in a related field, including water conservation program development, education, training, or presentations is desirable. Those with applicable college coursework but no work experience are encouraged to apply
A working knowledge of horticulture and water efficient landscapes, including the principles of irrigation system efficiency
A valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record is also required.
Desired Qualifications:
A four-year degree from a college or university with major course work in water resources, horticulture, natural resources or related fields.
A minimum of two years’ work experience in water efficiency, water efficiency program development, or landscaping, irrigation, or horticulture
Desired certifications include: the QWEL, CLIA, and CLWM certifications
This is a full-time position working forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday and may occasionally require working evenings or weekends.
Pre-employment screening, which includes background check, drug screen and motor vehicle record check will be performed for all candidates who are offered employment.
Starting pay range is $34.11 - $40.93 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits, which include health insurance, paid time off and retirement savings options are included.
