Trucking Dispatcher

The Dispatch Manager position is a full-time position. This is a challenging opportunity for a self-motivated and determined individual to work in a fast-paced, hands-on, growing construction company. This position is responsible for managing the dispatch functions at Iron Woman Construction and Environmental Services fleet operations to ensure the efficient and effective movement of our customers’ needs.

Essential Functions

Logistics Duties:

1. Manage all routing modifications to ensure the business is utilizing equipment and staff efficiently.

2. Continually access the service level and provide recommendations to managers regarding opportunities to improve operational performance

3. Monitor and manage key performance indicators and cost factors impacting operational effectiveness.

4. Effectively communicate with customers on a regular basis regarding core transportation issues impacting the customer and the effectiveness and efficiency of the fleet.

5. Build and maintain a positive work environment where team members and their contributions are recognized and valued. Maintain frequent communication with all team members.

6. Promote and monitor employee safety and take proactive steps to create a positive safety culture. Partner with customer, internal and external resources as necessary to identify, evaluate and remove safety obstacles. Ensure compliance with safety programs and protocols as well as federal, state and local regulations.

7. Embrace, promote and lead continuous improvement efforts, including selection and implementation of dispatch component of enterprise software

8. Organize and schedule all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.

9. Find and create efficiencies regarding hauling maximum tonnage, coordinating backhaul opportunities, conserving fuel, reducing idle time, etc. by utilizing available technology.

10. Set and monitor productivity, service, and safety targets for each route and driver.

11. Monitor daily truck revenue goals – explain variances from company standard.

12. Work with hourly paid drivers to make sure productivity is commensurate with hours worked.

13. Assist with data collection and reporting required for incentive pay programs.

14. Insure drivers and trucks are being utilized for full days and full weeks.

15. Establish and maintain a positive relationship with all drivers. Create a driver experience that is number one in the industry.

16. Monitor loads dispatched to drivers and work with Dispatch throughout the week to increase work maximize driver earnings and company revenue.

Competencies

· Computer Skills; MS Office Suite, tracking and scheduling software.

Construction Environment experience required.

· Excellent verbal and written communication.

· Telephone and radio support

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

· Excellent Multi-tasking skills Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

· Detail-oriented in all aspects

· Strong project management and complex problem-solving skills

· Must be able to work in a growing, fast-paced environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Supervisor Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities. This includes responsibility for employee performance reviews and feedback, providing motivation and encouragement, scheduling time off, employee grievances or complaints, pay change and dispatcher accountability responsibilities. May be required to perform other duties to cover staff shortages or address customer needs.

Salary: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
