Full Time Yard Front End Loader

Essential Information

This position is responsible for managing Aggregate Material handling functions at Iron Woman Logistics yards located at 5680 Emerson St. Denver Co 80216 and/or 2200 Radcliffe Ave., Englewood, CO 80110, using a front-end loader to load different aggregate materials for Denver Water contract.

Loading aggregates, (all non-hazardous materials) There is no minimal educational requirement to be a yard loader operator, but specialized training can help loader advance.

Salary Range: $22.50-$25.00/hr.

Job Description

Operates a front-end loader, schedule will be 05:30 – 17:30 Monday thru Friday. Weekends are on a as needed basis.

Tasks that require little skill can be learned quickly; other tasks require considerable experience or training. Operators shall work hours assigned by Op’s Manager only. All overtime must be approved.

Job Duties

Compliance:

Pre-&-post trip equipment on Application CAT Inspect.

o Submit electronically to supervisor daily

o The inspection must be submitted at the beginning of your shift.

Safety:

Follow and practice all safety regulations.

You must wear appropriate PPE including safety vest, long pants, gloves, safety glasses, and work boots

Make sure yards are secured at the end of shift

o Gates closed

o Doors locked

Be aware of your surroundings when entering the yards.

When operating loader, keep bucket 6-12" off of the ground

Always keep eye contact with everyone and everything in work zone

Keep tidy surroundings to avoid slips, trips, and falls

Operations:

Grease equipment daily, and as needed throughout your shift

Fuel equipment daily including DEF when needed (LOADER IS TO NEVER GO BELOW ½ tank.)

o Notify supervisor when fuel supply tank is ¼ full (South Yard Only)

Inspect the loader bucket and confirm it is free of any and all debris at start, mid, and end of every shift.

Use slide spray as needed throughout the shift to avoid build-up on buckets.

Load aggregate and spoils to trucks using front end loader.

Separate all metal and dispose in the metal bin using front end loader.

Separate all trash and dispose in the trash bin using front end loader.

Manage material piles

o Make sure there is no contamination

o Keep all aggregate, and spoils pill contained and clean.

o Maintain bins and area located by material

Cold Mix Operation (South Yard Operation):

Cold Mix operations happen every couple of months and loader operations will be used to load material bins or stockpile mixed cold mix.

Daily Reporting:

Must keep accurate time records for hours worked on Axon Link App.

Manage all scale tickets, incoming spoils tickets, aggregate tickets received and loaded out, submit daily by material and foreman or job site on the Scale ticket log provided.

Communication:

Loaders will communicate with the supervisor for all equipment, scheduling and other concerns.

Communicate with truck drivers using your CB (NOT ALL TRUCK DRIVERS HAVE CB’s, drive up to truck and ask what they need)

Be professional and appropriate when communicating with all personnel that come through the yard

Housekeeping:

All janitorial needs and requests need to go through the supervisor.

Loader must be kept clean inside at all times. If you need cleaning supplies, please contact your supervisor

o Windows and interior included

Always keep loader shack and office clean.

Dispose of trash from the loader shack or office.

Requirements

Learn and follow safety regulations

Excellent verbal and written communication

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Organizational and interpersonal skills

Follow safety orientation and training

Follow instructions and meet set standard both verbally and written

Judge distances and slopes accurately; make decisions based on verifiable standards.

Work in dusty or dirty surroundings

Workers must be able to stoop, bend, and crouch

Workers must be able to use their hands, arms and legs full

Must be able to move freely in and out of equipment

Good vision and hearing (either naturally or with correction)

Must be able to pass construction equipment operator qualification testing/observation.
