Nelson Pipeline is seeking a highly motivated Shop Mechanic who will be responsible for repairing, diagnosing, inspecting and maintaining earth moving equipment, primarily servicing rentals and some customer owned equipment.
Responsibilities:
-Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery and equipment following specifications and manuals
-Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunctions
-Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, and mechanical systems
-May operate mobile equipment including service truck to retrieve down truck assets
-Able to read schematics (both electrical and hydraulic)
-Perform welding, repair and fabrication
-Purchase parts for repairs as needed
-Communicates timely and effectively with shop leadership to keep them informed about major problems
-Ability to submit work orders through systems
-Adheres to all safety rules
-Maintaining the work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly manner on a continuous basis
-Other job duties as assigned

Requirements:
-1+ years of experiences as a mechanic and repairing heavy construction equipment preferred
- Ability to use power tools, welders, cutting torches/chains and various safety devices
- Experience in Yellow Iron industry experience preferred
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- CDL class B preferred
