Project Manager for Construction / Mining Projects

This is a "Management Representative" and is responsible for the safe completion of Company projects within budget, on schedule, to the company’s quality standards, and to the customer’s satisfaction. It is his or her responsibility to initiate required action to achieve these objectives and to ensure that all project activities are consistent with contract documents and Company Policy.

Project Manager duties will vary as required to support the Project Superintendent and other personnel assigned to the project. Generally, the Project Manager will concentrate on long-term planning, scheduling, and the identification and resolution of possible conflicts prior to having an impact on the project. The Project Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all logistical support is completed in a timely manner so that the Project Superintendent can concentrate on the daily and weekly direction of the company’s resources and coordination of subcontractors.

More specifically these responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with other team members, on-site employees, vendors and contractors.

Ability and willingness to establish strong working relationships with both internal team members and external vendors.

Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule; including the ability to travel “on-demand” and for long periods of time.

Ability to efficiently and successfully complete several tasks on a daily basis.

Participate in handoff meetings with the Estimating Department.

Develop the project budget.

Complete project buyout from Estimating.

o Determine subcontractors and material suppliers

Draft and execute subcontracts and purchase orders.

Coordinate any training required to perform the work.

Obtain necessary permits and/or licenses to perform the work.

Initiate project bonds and insurance requirements.

Develop the project master schedule.

Conduct internal and external preconstruction meetings.

Prepare and track project submittals and log.

Conduct weekly meetings with applicable project team members.

Develop and submit project pay applications.

Prepare and track project scope changes.

Identify and submit project change orders to the client.

Draft and maintain project RFI's and log.

Safety compliance and administration.

QA/QC administration.

Subcontractor management.

Complete project buyout from client.

Close out/ As-Built procedure responsibility.

Job cost projections.

Must have a valid Driver's License.
