We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as a part-time, summer, Dryer Vent Apprentice. This is crucial to ensuring smooth daily operations and providing exceptional support to our valued customers. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be comfortable handling a variety of administrative and customer-facing tasks within the fireplace industry.
Job Summary:
As a Part-Time Dryer Vent Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians, assisting with all aspects of dryer vent cleaning and maintenance. This role will involve learning the fundamentals of the trade, developing practical skills, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This is a temporary, part-time position ideal for students or individuals seeking summer work experience.
Responsibilities:
Assist senior technicians with on-site dryer vent inspections, cleaning, and maintenance.
Learn to use various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Help with setting up and breaking down equipment at job sites.
Assist with basic troubleshooting of dryer vent issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in the company vehicle and at customer locations.
Communicate effectively and professionally with customers under the guidance of the lead technician.
Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications:
Must be at least , 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs and work in various physical positions (e.g., bending, kneeling, crawling).
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
Eagerness to learn and follow instructions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic understanding of hand tools is a plus.
Previous experience in a related field (e.g., general labor, home maintenance) is a plus but not required.
Schedule:
Part-time, approximately 20-35 hours per week.
Workdays and hours may vary depending on scheduling needs but will generally be Monday – Friday during daytime hours.
Flexibility in schedule may be required.
This is a summer position with an expected duration of June - August.
Compensation:
Hourly wage: $18.81-20.00.
