The University of Colorado Boulder is searching for an Equipment Mechanic II! This role will ensure all University and State agency vehicles are properly maintained, including overseeing regular preventative maintenance and conducting repairs and safety checks. CU Boulder will supply all tools and equipment necessary to succeed in this role.

Transportation Services provides comprehensive transit, fleet management, and maintenance to serve the faculty, staff, students, and visitors at the University of Colorado Boulder. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
Diagnosis and Repair
Diagnose and make appropriate repairs to return vehicles to users in a timely, proper, and cost-effective manner. Repairs may constitute use of specialized equipment and tooling for gas, diesel and electric vehicles. The diagnosis of these issues and use of the necessary tools is based on truing, education, and prior work experiences. Serve as a resource to others. Repairs include replacing needed parts, software updates, and acquiring parts from local and other vendors.
Preventative Maintenance
Inspect and replace necessary wear points and expendable fluids. Report all findings to shop manager or lead technician.
Fabrication or Modification
Perform discretionary alternation and modification of obsolete parts or tools. Guarantee quality; safety is top priority.
Professional Development & Documentation
Complete pertinent training that raises personal and operational value.
Record and report all repairs on work orders and necessary safety issues.
What You Should Know:
The anticipated work schedule for this role is Monday – Friday, 7 am – 4 pm.
This role is eligible for our Facilities Management Employee Referral Program.
What We Can Offer:
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $58,080 annually.

What We Require:
2 years of experience working on light duty vehicles OR a combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant work experience equal to two (2) years.
Must have a valid driver's license.
CDL class B license with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain this license within 6 months of hire.
Ability to pass a drug test in order to obtain and maintain a CDL B with passenger endorsement license.
What You Will Need:
Knowledge of air conditioning systems, brakes, steering suspension, and diagnostic tools.
Familiarity with tire installer and balancer machines.
An ability to work independently without direct supervision and in a team environment.
Able to think critically and tackle problems.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to be reliable.
Strong social skills, including customer service skills.
What We Would Like You to Have:
ASE certifications.
