Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, demonstrating proficiency in diagnosing and resolving vehicle issues. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional customer service while ensuring that all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various vehicles, including but not limited to oil changes, brake services, and tire rotations.
Diagnose mechanical issues using hand tools and power tools, ensuring accurate assessments of vehicle conditions.
Repair or replace components such as shocks, struts, and suspension systems to enhance vehicle performance.
Utilize auto estimating software to provide detailed repair estimates to customers.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle's needs, providing clear explanations of repairs and services performed.
Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
Skills
Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools for automotive repair tasks.
Strong understanding of automotive systems, including suspension components and diagnostics.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information in an understandable manner.
Experience working in a dealership environment is preferred but not required.
Ability to maintain high standards of quality in all repairs while managing time effectively.
Familiarity with auto estimating processes and software is advantageous.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or ASE certifications preferred.
Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in automotive repair (light to medium-duty).
Have your own tools
Strong knowledge of automotive systems including engine, transmission, suspension, electrical, and HVAC.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computer-based vehicle diagnostics.
Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
Work performed in a garage/shop environment with exposure to noise, exhaust fumes, and temperature variations.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots is required.
May occasionally require overtime or weekend shifts based on workload or emergencies.
