Job Description:

As a Mobile Pet Groomer, you are responsible for training and providing leadership of the grooming staff. Primary responsibilities may include the capability to train and educate newly hired groomers to handle all pets professionally, safely, and with love and care. Trainers must educate new team members to styling pets showing techniques that are tailored to the type of hair, coat, breed, and specific instructions provided by the owner or breed standard.

As a Master groomer/Trainer, you should be able to demonstrate knowledge about different dog breeds and styling. You will work with each dog, and within each dog’s limitations, to acclimate them to the salon and ensure they are comfortable for the duration of their appointment. We are looking for an individual who will work with Management to provide a clean, calm, organized and gentle grooming environment. The position will allow for input into how the grooming schedule is set up and the organizational and cleaning needs of the grooming vehicles.

Applicants must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment, have a willingness to learn and grow, and must love cats & dogs! The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter with a positive attitude and solid work ethic.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Train newly hired pet stylists to the basics of grooming

Support grooming team to ensure appointments run on-time

Show and demonstrate a clean and sterile environment; this requires cleaning up pet messes, cleaning pet waste, and ensuring that grooming areas are safe and free from hazards

Ability to lift heavy items (large dogs in case of emergency, cases of grooming products)

Remain active and attentive at all times

Provide excellent customer service when interacting with pet parents

This position requires continuous walking, standing, lifting, bending, and kneeling throughout every workday

Vehicle, Equipment & Safety:

Safely drive large cargo vans and maintain a clean and sanitary Company vehicle.

Follow all local & state laws, road/driving regulations, and Company policies

Provide excellent customer service and satisfaction despite stressful events / conditions.

Communicate effectively with support team to provide exceptional customer service and ensure deliveries are completed.

Use smart phone device for GPS Navigation, view appointments, contact customers and conducting administrative requirements such as clocking in/out, and communicate with supervisors and other team members.

Load and unload pets in grooming vehicle

Required skills and qualifications:

1-3 years+ experience in pet grooming

Experience in customer service

Experience with animals in a professional or volunteer capacity

Professional certification (such as from the National Dog Groomers Association of America).

Demonstrated passion for animals

Well-developed verbal communication skills

Excellent attention to detail

Benefits & Scheduling:

$20.75-$22.00/ hour plus tips (paid weekly)

10-hour shifts are typical

4 -day workweek (40 hours) is typical

A minimum of 2 paid 15-minute breaks during your shift and 1 unpaid 30-minute meal break

Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years old

Must hold a non-provisional, unrestricted driver’s license

Authorized to work in the United States

Must have good communication skills
