We're looking for a responsible, energetic and self-motivated individual to join our team as estimator/sales person. The right candidate will have excellent communication skills and basic knowledge of the construction industry. We will provide you with all the tools you need to succeed in this position.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Estimator is responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of estimates for asphalt, milling and concrete projects as required by clients, provide complete conceptual and total bid price. The Estimator also plays instrumental in business development for the Company.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews and evaluates Requests for Estimates.
Reviews weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates.
Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
Creates job folders, proposals and schedules
Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid.
Performs job walks when required.
Obtains pricing for materials.
Obtains bids from subcontractors.
Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.
Regularly follows up on previously bid work.
Skills:
Background in asphalt and milling required.
Preferably bilingual, but not a must.
Strong attention to detail, follow-up and excellent organizational skills.
General computer skills, with the ability to learn software programs. Google Workspace and QuickBooks Online experience is preferred but not required.
