Dispatcher Job Description – Mechanical Services (Plumbing Focus)
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our mechanical services company, with a primary focus on plumbing operations. The Dispatcher plays a vital role in ensuring efficient coordination of service calls, technician schedules, and customer communication. This position requires quick thinking, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for receiving and prioritizing incoming service requests from residential and commercial customers. You will assign qualified plumbers based on location, availability, and skillset, ensuring timely response and customer satisfaction. A strong understanding of plumbing systems and terminology is highly preferred to effectively triage calls and communicate clearly with technicians and clients.
Your duties include maintaining daily schedules, tracking job progress, and ensuring accurate documentation in our dispatch software. You’ll also serve as a key liaison between customers, field technicians, and office staff—handling updates, delays, and emergencies with professionalism and urgency.
Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a customer-first mindset. Prior experience in dispatching within the mechanical or plumbing industry is a strong advantage.
