This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay commensurate with experience within the pay band $24.00 - $29.00 per hour, plus the benefits listed below.

The Opportunity…

Responsible for all technical and safety aspects of rooftop PV installations.

Conduct site visits to screen potential sites for solar access and safety issues.

Assist the Installation Supervisors and team in the loading and unloading of equipment.

Provide oversight and training to job trainees (including interns and Solarcorps) and volunteers in the solar electric installation processes on-site

Lead installations of solar electric systems with GRID Alternatives staff, crews of volunteers, and/or job trainees

Ensure that all solar installations done by GRID Alternatives staff or Subcontractors are installed according to GRID Alternatives safety and quality standards.

Assist in warehouse organization and inventory.

Participate in GRID’s equity, inclusion, and diversity work

Other job duties could include equipment purchasing, hardware store runs, Fleet maintenance and upkeep, answering homeowner and volunteer questions, providing excellent customer service to clients, talking to media and generally participating in activities necessary to make solar happen for low-income families.

What you need to bring to this role…​

Experience in PV system installation, design, and troubleshooting

Experience leading a crew in PV installation, minimum one year

Excellent communication skills (ability to work with volunteers and clients, ability to represent GRID Alternatives positively)

Comfortable working as part of a team (must be open to ideas from team members).

Flexibility and willingness to embrace change, go the extra mile, and bring ideas and energy to rapidly growing organization

Willingness to work on evenings and weekends when required

Receive NABCEP certified within one year

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Some travel outside the Denver Area required

It would be great if you also had…

Passion for sustainability, affordable housing, the environment, or environmental justice, or just generally grounded in making the world a better place.

Experience in training and/or working with volunteers

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Where you will sit & the places you may go…

This position may require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects. Availability to occasionally work nights and weekends may be required.

GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
