A Brief Overview
Responsible for ensuring quality residential services are provided in accordance to all government regulations or agency policies. Supervise and provide support to a team to create a safe and supportive environment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What would you do in this position?
- Communicate clearly with others in a professional and respectful manner
- Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records in department database according to department standards
- Monitor training and review timecards of employees and take action if necessary
- Interview, train, and coach employees and monitor work performance, taking action as needed
- Attend and participate in meetings as required by the department
- Identify and resolve workplace problems
- Coordinate care for people in services and find coverage as needed
- Complete monitoring, home visits, and medication checks as required
- Coordinate with medical and behavioral personnel to ensure medications and appointments are current
- Monitor finances and benefits for people in services
What education or experience would you need?
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field OR Associate's Degree in Human Services field + 2 years of experience working with people with disabilities OR 4 years experience working with people with disabilities
- 1 year or more supervisory experience preferred
- Valid Drivers License required
What knowledge, skills, or abilities would you need?
- Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written forms
- Ability to use office equipment such as fax machine, scanner, copier, phone
- Ability to be on-call and work a flexible schedule
- Advanced communication and leadership skills needed to lead a team
- Advanced time management and organization skills
- Analytical thinking skills to solve complex problems
- Basic knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of technology such as internet browsers, PDF software, database systems
- Moderate typing and data entry skills
