A women-owned and operated law firm with a team of 10 lawyers is seeking a senior litigation paralegal to join our exceptional team of client-focused professionals serving the construction industry. The ideal candidate for this role will possess a minimum of five years of litigation experience and demonstrate proficiency in managing multiple complex litigations. The work environment is semi-remote, with all files and documentation stored in our firm management system and on our remote server. Paralegals collaborate closely with the attorneys to investigate cases, communicate with clients, gather and organize case documents, track case deadlines, and ensure the legal team meet these deadlines. We value candidates who are organized, professional, detail-oriented, and dedicated to meeting our clients' needs.Key Responsibilities:- Manage case files meticulously, including accurate documentation and input of party and contact information into our firm management system.- Ensure proper filing and location of pleadings and disclosures within case files.- Calendar all deadlines, including client reporting and court-mandated deadlines.- Review and prepare client documents for disclosure, including privilege review, redaction, privilege logs, exhibit preparation, document formatting, and bates numbering.- Conduct client interviews and gather necessary case documents and information to ensure completeness of case files and mandatory disclosures.- Maintain timely and effective client communications, coordinating closely with attorneys as necessary.- Draft a variety of legal documents under attorney supervision, such as subpoenas, complaints, summonses, initial disclosures, expert disclosures, written discovery, discovery responses, case management orders, trial management orders, motions, and affidavits.- Obtain ownership and encumbrance reports, verify legal descriptions, and draft mechanics' liens and demand letters.- Conduct research on opposing parties, including reviewing prior litigations, news articles, and social media entries.- Research construction, property, and title issues, utilizing regional building department and assessors' office online portals as needed.- File and serve pleadings and other filings via state, federal, and private e-filing systems, adhering to court orders and civil procedure rules.- Coordinate service of process and conduct background checks as required.If you are a dedicated professional seeking to contribute to a dynamic team environment and meet the qualifications outlined above, we encourage you to apply.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard torace, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.
