We are a women-owned and operated construction law firm with 10lawyers. We grew from a team of five people to 17 in less than two years, by offering flexible and online workenvironments, competitive salaries, and valuing team member contributions. We're seeking a senior transactional paralegal and a senior litigation paralegal to join our amazing teamof client-centered professionals serving the construction industry. For the senior litigation position, the idealcandidate has at least five years of litigation experience and is able to manage multiple ongoing complexlitigations. For the senior transactional paralegal, the ideal candidate has significant real estate and transactionalexperience, including experience preparing and recording mechanic's liens. Additional experience in collectionsand lien foreclosure litigation preferred.Our work environment is semi-remote, with all files and documentation saved in our firm management systemand on our remote server. Our paralegals must have a high proficiency in learning new computer programs andbe self-motivated to ensure accuracy and completion of all work in an on-line environment. Paralegals workdirectly with our attorneys to investigate cases, communicate with clients, obtain, and organize case documentsand information, identify case deadlines, and ensure the legal team meets those deadlines. The ideal paralegalcandidate is organized, professional, accountable, has a strong attention to detail and committed to helping usmeet our clients' needs.Responsibilities and Duties: Manage case files, including:o accurately document and input party information and contact information into firm managementsystemo ensure pleadings and disclosures are saved to the proper files and in the proper locationso calendar all deadlines, including client reporting deadlines as well as court mandated deadlineso review and prepare client documents for disclosure, including reviewing for privilege, redacting,preparing privilege logs, add exhibit stickers, format documents and bates numbering documents Communicate with clients, interviewing them and gathering documents and information about the caseto ensure completeness of case file and any mandatory disclosures Respond timely and promptly to client inquiries, continually managing client communications andcoordinating with attorneys as needed Draft legal documents,o including subpoenas, complaints, summonses, initial disclosures, expert disclosures, writtendiscovery, discovery responses, case management orders, trial management orders, motions,and affidavits, under supervision of attorneys Obtain ownership and encumbrance reports, check legal descriptions, draft mechanics' liens anddemand letters Perform research on opposing parties, including prior litigations, news articles, social media entries Research construction, property and title issues, including learning how to access and obtain informationfrom regional building department and assessors' office online portals File and serve pleadings and other filings via state, federal, and private e-filing systems, calendaringresponsive deadlines pursuant to Court Orders and the Rules of Civil procedureAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard torace, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.
