We are looking for a Material Handler to help organize our storage areas and maintain our inventory. Your job will be to prepare and fulfil orders fast and correctly so we can provide high-quality customer service. Material Handlers are integral warehouse workers. The main material handler duties revolve around placing incoming orders on shelves, in bins, and picking merchandise according to specific customer requirements. As a Material Handler, you will monitor inventory and communicate any shortages. You should have great attention to detail to maintain accurate records. Physical strength is required to perform this position.

Responsibilities:

Safely and efficiently load, unload, and build outgoing loads of lumber and building materials into storage facilities, onto semi- trailer trucks and flatbeds, securing all outgoing loads in appropriate and safe stacking method.

Drives various lifting devices (e.g., forklift) to move products and materials around the warehouse and yard.

Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures

Participates and supports Inventory and Inventory Control activities, maintaining organized warehouse and yard as well as counting and preparation work for inventories

Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, packs, or other containers to provide correct identification of items

Safely operates banding equipment, saws, and other necessary facility equipment

Contribute to a work culture of teamwork, communication, respect, and continuous improvement

Skills:

Proven experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or similar position

Experience in using warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)

Strong communication skills

Lumber and building material product knowledge

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job

Availability to occasionally work overtime

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
