Job Description
The successful applicant will work on-site in the laboratory at Paterson & Cooke’s Golden, CO office. In-house training will be provided. Occasional travel may be necessary (<10% of time).
The work will entail the following:
Tasks And Responsibilities
At P&C, safety is paramount. Adhere to and implement rigorous safety requirements.
Sample management (sample receipt, splitting, tracking, disposal or return).
Metallurgical test work, including: particle size analysis, thickening, filtration, and rheology test work for mine tailings samples.
Complete test work with a high level of care. Test work drives high-cost engineering decisions.
Data entry and analysis.
Organize shipping and deliveries.
Maintain inventory of supplies; update as needed.
Ordering of spare parts and supplies as needed.
Misc. laboratory errands including pickup/delivery of supplies, samples, and chemicals.
Maintain laboratory space and keep equipment clean, organized, and in working order.
Forklift training and license will be provided.
Requirements and competencies
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in science related field (preferred)
0-2 years of experience working in a lab setting, or related field
Understanding of basic math and chemistry (preferred)
Able to lift up to 50 lbs, repeatedly, as needed
Able to wear mandatory safety equipment (safety shoes and respirator)
Competency with Microsoft Office suite, mainly Word and Excel.
A valid driver’s license and vehicle for running errands (mileage to be reimbursed)
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Able and willing to travel locally (<10%)

Other Important Details
Work Schedule:
9 hour days (Monday-Thursday), 8 hour days (Fridays). Approx. every other Friday off (some moved around to add days around holiday breaks). Hours are somewhat flexible but employees are expected to be on site from 8am to 12pm; 1pm to 4pm.
Salary and Benefits:
Pay Range $40,000 - $55,000 (DOE)
