Position Purpose
Responsible for the care and maintenance of all horticultural and structural components of the golf course under the direct supervision of the golf course superintendent. Scouts, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs facility components to assure optimum playing conditions for golf course customers.
Job Functions / Scope of Authority
Performs turf maintenance for all areas of the golf course, including, mowing, irrigation, fertilization, bunker maintenance, and other various manual labor tasks. Observes and reports any unusual turf conditions to the supervisor. May at times operate mowing equipment for fairways, rough, tees, and greens. May assist with irrigation system repairs, including, placement of sprinkler heads and repairing broken lines.
Helpful, but not essential to have working knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment of golf course maintenance. Working knowledge of turf and maintenance programs is a plus.
Working Environment / Qualifications
Work is primarily performed in an outdoor environment with moderate to high noise levels. May at times require strenuous work, heavy lifting and pushing or pulling, lifting objects of 50 lbs or more regularly. Work may be performed in adverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, and rain.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. Work schedule will vary during the season and early mornings are expected.
Requirements: Must be Eighteen years of age with a valid drivers license
