Golf Course Grounds Staff

Lakewood Country Club – Lakewood, CO

Lakewood Country Club, an 18-hole private golf club established in 1908 and located just outside of Denver, CO, is seeking reliable and dedicated full- and part-time Grounds Staff for the 2025 golf season. These positions may evolve into year-round roles within the Golf Course Maintenance Department.

Our typical season spans from March through October, with summer hours of 40+ hours per week (Monday through Friday, 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM). This role also requires weekend shifts every other week (5:30 AM - 8:30 AM). Compensation is $17.00 - $20.00 per hour, based on experience, with opportunities for overtime. Part-time positions for morning and weekend shifts are also available.

This role is physically demanding and requires working in a variety of weather conditions. Lakewood Country Club offers golf privileges, uniforms, and lunches to its staff.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:

Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Ability to walk long distances, bend, and kneel frequently.

Ability to safely operate handheld and riding equipment while following both oral and written instructions.

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).

Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment across the golf course and in all related areas.

Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

High attention to detail and precision in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain all areas of the golf course, including specialty turf, sand bunkers, trees, flower beds, and shrub beds.

Participate in spraying and fertilizing tasks (once sufficient experience is gained).

Assist in in-house construction projects such as removing and laying sod, seeding, shaping and grading soil for drainage, and planting trees and shrubs.

Perform weeding and other horticultural tasks.

Use various hand tools (e.g., rakes, shovels, tamps, brooms) and tools related to golf course maintenance.

Operate small power equipment such as string trimmers, push mowers, hover mowers, edgers, blowers, etc.

Operate utility carts, including those with manual transmissions.

Hand-water turf and ornamental areas as needed.
