Job Title: Experienced Drill Bore Locator / Crew Lead

Communication Construction and Engineering, a local underground utility contractor, is seeking an Experienced Drill Bore Locator/Crew Lead to join our team based in Denver, CO. Our employees work out of our Denver office, traveling throughout the Front Range to deliver high-quality utility projects.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Occasional night or weekend work may be required
Overtime paid at 1.5x rate

Key Requirements:
Proven experience operating directional drills and leading drill crews in busy, utility-heavy environments
Active Class A CDL (manual preferred) with no DUIs in the past 5 years and ability to drive daily
Availability to work in the Denver metro area, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Professional appearance and demeanor as a company representative
Responsibilities:
Oversee HDD directional drill crew
Use Digitrak locator to plan and execute directional drill bore paths, ensuring compliance with utility offsets and construction regulations
Read and interpret plan sets, survey stakes, and marks to drive production
Lead, train, and motivate crew members to optimize performance and meet production goals
Direct potholing efforts, verify locates, and job materials
Mix drilling mud and maintain equipment for efficient operations
Collaborate with Project Managers to prioritize daily projects
Maintain accurate records (daily logs, GoPro videos, job folders)
Ensure jobsite safety for crew, public, and equipment
Oversee vehicle inventory, maintenance, and crew task execution
Anticipate and address project challenges proactively
Qualifications & Skills:
Punctual, adaptable, and forward-thinking with strong leadership abilities
Hardworking and willing to get dirty in a hands-on role
Excellent communicator and team player with a focus on crew motivation
Aware of surroundings with a commitment to safety and quality
Capable of maintaining a clean driving record and managing locating equipment
