Payroll and Benefit Professional

We are a locally-owned, growing national firm in a dynamic industry. We are looking for an experienced payroll and benefit professional to perform our bi-weekly payroll processing as well as administer the associate benefits to join our HR department. You’ll work to ensure our payroll and taxes are paid correctly and on time. You will liaise with other associates; calculate wages; prepare and process payments and maintain accurate payroll records. Investigating and resolving payroll/benefit issues and ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards is required. This individual will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for less than 500 associates at multiple locations and states, handle all aspects of payroll and benefit functions and administration.

The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of previous payroll experience including benefits, be detailed oriented with analytical thinking, have excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel. Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is a plus.

General responsibilities:

Maintain payroll database for all associates

Process bi-weekly payroll

Process billing by location for bi-weekly payroll

Process all paychecks to include final, as needed

Maintain Quarterly reporting as well as YE reports

Reconciliation of associate costs by department

Manage and process monthly benefit billings for all associate benefits

Facilitate workers compensation claims

Complete and analyze compensation across the board

Complete surveys

Complete annual reporting

Coordinate annual benefit enrollment as needed

Assist other human resources associates as needed

Candidates must have:

- Minimum 5-7 years of payroll experience

- Minimum of 3-5 years of benefit experience

- Knowledge of employment laws and practices

- Experience in benefit administration and compensation programs

- Proficient computer skills in all Microsoft office systems

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Strong organizational skills and project management

- Advanced working knowledge of Excel, including formulas. V Look-Ups,

The purpose of the payroll/benefit professional is to provide world-class service to our associates through showcasing payroll and benefits expertise. This individual will be directly responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of payroll, in addition to billing, benefit enrollment, eligibility, reporting, monthly processing and allocating of benefit premiums, G/L interface, end of year and quarterly reporting and compliance.
