The Practice:

Independent and entrepreneurial-minded solo practice seeks a front desk administrative

assistant to join an established primary care clinic. The current physician is family medicine. Work/life

balance is fundamental to all associates and physicians in the group.

Our practice is a member of the Independent Practice Association (IPA), PHPprime. PHPprime provides

wrap-around services to help make our practice successful, including care coordination, practice

transformation coaching, risk adjustment coding education, population health management, data and

analytics, specialist network management, and large group contracting.

The Community:

The clinic is located in Lakewood very close to Belmar shopping center. About a mile form 6th

avenue.

The Position:

 Greets and directs visitors in a positive and helpful manner. Provides any necessary

instructions/directions. Informs appropriate department/person of visitor’s arrival.

 Answers telephone in professional manner, screens calls and takes concise messages. Listens to

and evaluates needs of callers and handles appropriately. Serves as a resource for callers, with a

focus on customer service and assistance.

 Provides clerical support for departments as directed including but not limited to data entry,

coordination of meetings, preparation of presentations, and summaries of meetings.

 Supplements office staff by assisting with computer input/typing, scheduling, preparation of forms,

correspondence, transcription, compilation of data, and other various projects.

 Assists in maintenance of office equipment and supplies while maintaining a clean orderly

reception area.

 Patient registration:Ensuring accurate patient registration

 Collecting copays:Collecting copays and account balances

 Submitting claims:Submitting claims in a timely manner

 Collecting outstanding balances:Proactively collecting outstanding balance

 Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):

 High school diploma or equivalent

 Minimum 1 year administrative assistant experience, preferably in a health care environment

 Ability to use Microsoft Outlook Suite including MS Word, Outlook, Excel

 Interpersonal and communication skills in order to deal effectively, tactfully and courteously with

callers, physicians, personnel and customers in an expeditious manner

 Ability to prioritize, multi-task and pay close attention to detail

 Ability to work independently in a high stress area with good organizational skills

Job Schedule: Full time

Shift: 4 days/ 10 hours

Workdays: Monday to Thursday

Salary Range: $25-$27 - Negotiable
