Seeking a line cook for a neighborhood pub.
Duties will include prepping meals by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, cooking meals, checking ingredients for freshness, plating meals for our guests and packaging meals for delivery. You will also be in charge of ensuring that the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.
Responsibilities:
Preparing meals for our customers.
Weighing, measuring, mixing, and prepping ingredients according to recipes.
Steaming, grilling, baking, or frying meats, vegetables, and other ingredients.
Checking food and ingredients for freshness.
Ensuring that the kitchen area, equipment, and utensils are cleaned.
Follow storage and rotation guidelines to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
Comply with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Enforce proper food handling, storage, and labeling practices to prevent foodborne illnesses.
Requirements:
Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes (For candidates who do not already have a Food Handler Certification, The Fainting Goat Pub will cover the expense of the required training and certification, which must be completed before your start date).
Ability to safely use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
Punctuality and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
Basic kitchen knowledge, including knife skills, basic cooking techniques, safe food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
Excellent communication and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time and comfortably lift 50 lbs.
