Description We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales and use tax, payroll processing, multi-company accounting, and possess strong Excel skills. This role will involve working with various departments and outlying offices to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.Responsibilities:
Manage sales and use tax compliance for multiple states, including preparation, filing, and remittance.
Process payroll using Sage 100 software, including collecting timesheets from outlying offices, verifying data accuracy, and ensuring timely payment.
Utilize strong Excel skills to analyze financial data, create reports, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
Perform multi-company accounting tasks, including reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany transactions.
Provide support for ad hoc accounting duties and projects as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks and documentation.
Requirements
Requirements:
Proven experience with sales and use tax compliance, preferably in a multi-state environment.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, vlookup, and complex formulas.
Experience with Sage 100 software is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and adapt to new systems is essential.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
