Are you interested in a high impact role at the world’s preeminent cloud computing company? The AWS Sustainability team is looking for a results-oriented Senior Sustainability Specialist. This role will support our Climate Pledge goal of Net-Zero Carbon by 2040 by working hand in hand with our Hardware Engineering and Supply Chain teams to integrate circular business models into our operations. The ideal candidate will have industry experience identifying, designing, and executing programs across large, cross-functional teams. They will be able to identify environmental hotspots, and develop tailored strategies aligned with corporate sustainability goals. The individual will be responsible for scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating across organizations, driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks, and process changes. Teamwork is an absolute must to accomplish our goals. You must be able to work within a team while depending on and driving others to accomplish goals for our customers.Key job responsibilities

Serving as an AWS subject matter expert in Circular Economy.

Applying circular product design and circular economy strategies to electronics product design, manufacturing, and supply chain choices in a data center environment.

Utilizing strong business acumen to connect initiatives to business objectives and develop well-defined business models

Developing reports, dashboards and metrics which distill complex data into actionable insights to inform the AWS circular economy strategy.

Influencing across organizations and with key customers to gain support for investment.

Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge on current and emerging technologies, tools, and measurement methods.

Building and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive programs to completion.

Offering creative, out of the box solutions.

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science), or other Sustainability-related field, or 5+ years of additional field-specific work experience.

5+ years of experience developing and executing environmental sustainability programs in the private or public sector

Experience obtaining, managing, and analyzing data

Experience leading programs involving multiple teams and stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate with internal and external customers while meeting tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in environmental science, engineering, business or related degree (MBA/Masters/PhD)

Proven ability to interface successfully with senior leadership, suppliers, and customers

Proven track record of managing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering, problem solving, and communicating recommendations and goals across multiple leadership levels of an organization

Experience in electrical product design for circularity

Solid understanding of the electronics industry, including the specific challenges related to products and its supply chain and their impacts

First-hand experience with hardware product planning and development cycles

The base pay for this position ranges from $125,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,600/year in our highest geographic market.
